The Farm Welcome Center hours are 1 to 5 pm April 1-October 31. During the school year we have a community dinner which is a $8/plate benefit for The Farm School. The Welcome Center offers 2-hr community tours, please write or email vickie@thefarmcommunity.com to make reservations.
The Farm Store is open to the public daily 10am to 9pm. Yoga classes are offered four days/wk, please call Deborah at 931-964-2432 to sign up. Farm roads are bike friendly and there are miles of walking trails, but please do not go into deep forest without a guide.

How to Visit
Located on 6 square miles in south central Tennessee, The Farm is home to approximately 200 persons today.
Founded in 1971 with a spiritual commitment to simple living and self-reliance, The Farm has pioneered a wide range of social and physical technologies appropriate to low-cost, high satisfaction community living.
The community offers examples of right livelihood cottage industries, solar building design, permaculture, micro-enterprise, mushroom cultivation, composting and gardening, and regenerative hardwood forest management.

The Farm Eco Hostel Reservations: Stay at the hostel a while visiting The Farm ecovillage-in-process and get a feel for the lifestyle. Tours of the Ecovillage Training Center and the Farm Community can be arranged. Also available on request are presentations on the history of The Farm, the ecovillage movement, and principles of ecological design. Please contact us in advance to book your group. Some dates may be closed because of education activities, community events or festivals. No pets, please. Cross Country Tours Welcome!
From North:
Nashville to Columbia- Take I-65 South. About 30 miles from Nashville, take Exit 53 at the Saturn Parkway. At the end of Saturn Parkway, follow US Route 31 South to Columbia. About 9 miles south at a major intersection Hwy 412/43, turn right (south) onto US Route 43.
Columbia to The Farm- Take Highway 43 South for 22 miles to the intersection with Highway 20, which is marked for Summertown. Turn right onto Highway 20; you are now in Summertown. Check your odometer. At 1.5 miles you will bear right at the Summertown Market.
*Two miles further on Highway 20, immediately after passing under some powerlines, you will see a green Lawrence County sign, take a sharp right onto Drakes Lane at that county line sign. Drive 1.1 miles, turn right on Walker Road, where Drakes Lane takes a sharp left, and 0.4 miles later you will see the brown automatic gate and brick house, the Welcome Center of The Farm.
From South:
To Lawrenceburg, Tennessee: Take the Natchez Trace or I-65 to US Route 64; Lawrenceburg is 17 miles east of the Trace, 27 miles west of I-65, at the intersection of Highways 64 and 43.
Lawrenceburg to The Farm: From Lawrenceburg take US Route 43 North. After approximately 12 miles, take a left on Highway 240 at Johnson's One Stop, towards Summertown. About 2 miles later, take another left at the Confederate Monument, onto Highway 20. Follow Highway 20 into Summertown; bear right at the Summertown Market. From here, follow directions in asterisked paragraphs above.
When arriving at the automatic gate, on your left is a map of The Farm, & information holder with a map and a Farm brochure. More information is on the porch of the Welcome Center.
