Alan Graf, ERC's project director, is an attorney, poet and musician. While living and working on The Farm for 12 years, he spent 3 years in Guatemala working with the Cakchiquel Indians on a Plenty integrated development project. After Guatemala, he helped establish a Plenty refugee shelter for Central American refugees in Austin, Texas.

Jim Baker is assistant legal counsel for ERC. He graduated from the U.C. Berkeley School of Natural Resources and has a background in commercial fishing, maritime employment, and criminal law.

ERC is a project of Plenty. Its mission is to establish a legal cooperative for the Pacific Northwest, to provide an intentional community referrral service, to build an accessible library and database for environmental research, and to faciliate an environmental speakers bureau.
